My Everyday Favorites
If I could only recommend a few tools to start with, these would be it.
-
Chef’s Knife – This is the exact knife I use daily and it stays incredibly sharp without constant sharpening.
Budget option: Affordable chef’s knife - Cutting Board – Large, sturdy, and easy to clean.
- Dutch Oven – Perfect for soups, one-pot meals, and building flavor.
Cookware
- Stainless Steel Pan – This is what I use when I want a really good sear and deep flavor. It’s perfect for things like chicken, sauces, and anything where those browned bits matter.
- Nonstick Pan – Great for eggs, quick meals, and anything you don’t want sticking. This is my go-to when I want something easy and low cleanup.
- Dutch Oven – My go-to for soups and braises. Holds heat really well and makes one-pot meals easy.
Prep Tools
- Wooden Spoon – Perfect for stirring and scraping up flavor.
- Citrus Juicer – Gets more juice and keeps seeds out.
Serving Tools
- Ladle – Makes serving soups and sauces easy.
Getting Started?
If you’re building your kitchen, start with a good chef’s knife, cutting board, and one solid pot or Dutch oven. Those three alone will make cooking feel much easier.
